I have been to mass here several times. This is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis. The church towers were never completed. It was built during Bishop Lamy's time as I recall. They have a beautiful museum next to the church with artifacts from the former archbishops and church history. I have met Archbishop Michael Sheehan and was at the installation of Archbishop Jonathan Wester at this cathedral and they have a very good music director and liturgist. When Monsignor Jerome Martinez y Alire was rector as I recall I presented him with a large painting "Light and Lord of my Life" which is also on my Fine Art America website. If I had to live anywhere in New Mexico this is right where I would live. One of the best restaurants in town is right across from the cathedral at the La Fonda hotel's La Plazuela restaurant. They did a complete restoration of the stained glass windows a few years ago and a friend of mine was commissioned to do the entire work as he has done at numerous churches in New Mexico.
